We built Kovo as a safe, private digital archive for these small, warm daily moments, so protecting your privacy is at the core of everything we do. This policy outlines what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep your data secure when you use our personal space organizing and memory keeping service.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information that is necessary to deliver and improve your Kovo experience:
- Content you voluntarily submit: This includes all photos of your living spaces you upload, item tags, memory notes, mood logs, collection stories, space layout details, category labels you create for your belongings, and any content you choose to share with others via the platform.
- Technical and usage data: We collect anonymous, non-identifiable data about how you interact with Kovo features (such as which organizing tools you use most often) to optimize product performance and user experience. This data is never linked to your personal stored content.
2. How We Use Your Information
All data we collect is used solely to provide and improve the Kovo service you signed up for:
- To securely and permanently store all your memory content, so you can browse your belongings by category, revisit your memory timeline, and access the stories behind your items anytime you want.
- To generate tailored space organizing and display planning recommendations based on your actual space layout and item collections. These custom suggestions are only visible to you.
- To support optional sharing features: if you choose to share your space displays and associated stories with friends, we will process your sharing request only as instructed. You retain full control over all shared content.
- To fix technical issues and roll out new features that make Kovo more useful for you, using anonymized usage data that never reveals any of your personal content.
3. Your Data Control Rights
You own 100% of all content you upload to Kovo, and you have full control over your data at all times:
- You can access, edit, or delete any of your uploaded photos, memory notes, item tags, and stored content at any time directly within the app.
- You can export all your stored Kovo content to your local device in a common, usable format whenever you request.
- You can request full account deletion at any time. We will permanently erase all your data from our servers within 15 business days, with no residual copies kept.
- You can adjust sharing settings, revoke access to previously shared content, or turn off all sharing features entirely whenever you want.
4. Data Security Protection
We treat your private memory archive with the same care you would treat your physical treasured belongings:
- All your private, unshared content is stored with end-to-end encryption. No Kovo employee can access your personal stored content unless you explicitly grant us temporary permission to help resolve a technical issue you report.
- We run regular security audits and system updates to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- We only store your data for as long as you keep your Kovo account active. Once you delete your account, all your data is permanently erased with no recovery option.
5. Third Party Disclosure
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal content or identifiable information to any third party for any purpose. We only share data in the following limited cases:
- When you give us explicit, written permission to share specific content with a third party of your choice.
- With trusted service providers who help us operate Kovo (such as secure cloud storage providers), who are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and can only access encrypted data to perform required services, with no permission to use your data for any other purpose.
6. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes to our service or privacy practices. We will notify you of any updates at least 30 days before the new policy takes effect, via in-app notification. Your continued use of Kovo after the updated policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated policy, you may delete your account at any time.
